1 YEAR BEFORE:

* Must be off Accutane for at least 12 month to avoid skin lifting

* No skin resurfacing treatment

2 WEEKS BEFORE:

* Must not have had a Physician administered peel

* Stop shaving/plucking. Hair should be the length of a grain of rice (1/4") to get a good grip

1 WEEK BEFORE:

* No light peels or microdermabrasion

72 HOURS BEFORE:

* No tanning

* No harsh scrubs or exfoliation

* No retinols, AHA/BHA, GLycholic + Salicylic Acids to avoid skin lifting!

24 HOURS BEFORE:

* Gently exfoliate + lightly moisturize to remove dead skin cells + prepare the hairs for waxing

* No Botox, blood thinners, aspirin or anti-coagulating meds

DAY OF WAX:

* If you’re worried about pain, take an ibuprofen an hour before your wax

* Avoid lotions, perfumes, deoderants, tanning lotion, makeup, oils etc.

* No alcohol or significant amounts of caffeine before your wax. causes pores to tighten which makes waxing painful)

* Do not use numbing creams

* Bathe or shower to open follicles, allowing easier hair removal

* Wear loose, comfortable clothing

First 24 Hours:

*No sex for at least 24 hours after your wax

*Do not touch freshly waxed skin w/unwashed hands (cause irritation + pimples)

*For a cool down, refresh with a cool/warm shower

*Keep area clean, but avoid harsh cleansers

*Wear clean, loose clothing

24-48 Hours:

*Wait 1-2 days after wax to get a spray tan

*Avoid heat: no hot showers, baths, saunas, or steam rooms for a few days

*Wait two days post-wax before exfoliating to prevent ingrown hair and bumps

*Avoid friction on the area waxed

*No massage

*Do not get any skincare treatments

*No tanning beds

*No gym or excersize

*No swimming

*Avoid highly fragrant products

IN GENERAL:

*Refrain from shaving. Shaving creates coarse hair. When we wax we are creating finner hair. Shaving will disrupt the process.

*Wax every 4-6 weeks! Book your next visit! ***Waxing more frequently will get hair on the same cycle and thin out the follicles, helping with sensitivity as hair grows back finer and sparser.

*Moisturize every day

Your Wax Specialist will cleanse your skin with a pre-epilation cleanser to remove any makeup or lotion and a apply a puff of powder. Our glittery Mermaid Wax is applied and removed (without using a cloth strip). The excess is cleaned and a special hair minimizing lotion is appllied to help soothe your skin.

Freshly waxed skin can be a bit more sensitive. Wear loose, thin clothing to avoid irritation.

Cotton & silk clothiing and undergarments promote airflow and allow your skin to breathe! Skip the synthetic fabrics if at all possible.

The surrounding skin may be a little red after your service. If you've got a big event, plan your wax about three days before just in case.
